Happy bday Linux

Today is the 17th birthday of Linux...

On the 25th August 1991 the following message appeared on the newsgroup comp.os.minix:

Hello everybody out there using minix-

I'm doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won't be big
and professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones. This has
been brewing since april, and is starting to get ready. I'd like
any feedback on things people like/dislike in minix; as my OS
resembles it somewhat (same physical layout of the file-sytem
due to practical reasons)among other things.

I've currently ported bash (1.08) an gcc (1.40), and things seem to work.
This implies that i'll get something practical within a few months, and I'd
like to know what features most people want. Any suggestions are welcome,
but I won't promise I'll implement them :-)

Happy Birthday Linux!!!

Groovy weekend

My weekend started Friday evening with the acquisition of my brand spanking new 6 string Stenmore bass - as a followup I was requested to review this bass, and decided to play Baker Street.

The morning after, me and my work mates went to Gozo for the Gozo music fest and decided to spend the whole Saturday and Sunday by the beautiful beaches of this small island, 'Hondoq ir-Rummien' being my favorite. One of the best weekends to conclude the now approaching end of summer :)

New life

I apologize to my readers for not blogging for a while ;) I've been thriving really hard to get back on my feet at many levels in my life. However it's now official - I'm again a happy man - I love my job, i love my friends, and I have removed the old phantoms of the past which kept me on hold for a whole year...yep that's right...since 21st august 2007...It was hard to get over it, but life preserves us many nice gifts at the end of the day...

Please remember to check out my alter-ego blog on MADVIP.net. Catch you very soon..
